I'm excited for this first post. I'm embarking on a bit of a career shift. In past jobs, I've tended to carry additional leadership and mentoring responsibilities but those have always had to be a secondary focus. When I was recently laid off, someone very important to me asked me, "If you could be anything in the world, what would you be?".
I had been working toward my Life and Business Coach certifications on the side, and it didn't take me long to identify that was a passion. As with most of you who may have taken a career leap of faith in your past, my personal doubts crept in shortly after that moment of self-awareness. "Could I really make a career of it? Would people want me to coach them?"
I was talking myself out of it before I even got started. I had to force myself to step back, remove the emotion, and follow the steps to analyze the market viability and my own capabilities objectively. It's also a daily habit to positively affirm this is a passion and I believe in building your life around your passions...so, here we are!
A giant thank you to so many friends and family who have been so constructive and encouraging. I'm so excited to see where the journey takes us!
